Attention shapes perception; focus determines reality. Sara feels anxious about clouds; Molly feels peaceful by focusing on sunlight. Both have the same experience, but differing mindsets create opposite emotional states. Negative perceptions can become habitual, leading to chronic stress and health issues, while positive perceptions lead to peace. Ultimately, mindset is a personal choice, granting control over one's emotional state. Choose wisely.

Where you choose to place your attention is where your senses focus ultimately becoming your perception of the world.

Where you place your attention, is what your reality becomes.

Ex. Sara and Molly on the beach

Two people on a beach, Sara and Molly. Clouds approach from a distance.

Sara sees the clouds and begins to worry. Sara feels anxious.

Molly focuses on the sunlight and the sound of the ocean. Molly feels gratitude and peace.

Two very similar experiences, yet opposite states of mind. One is anxious and the other is peaceful.

The only difference is where each CHOSE to focus their attention.

Even if they both saw the clouds one could CHOOSE to see those clouds as positive thinking “Oh great now we can hang inside and the temperature will cool” whereas the other CHOOSES to perceive it as negative thinking “Oh shoot, now we have to go inside and it is going to be so cold and miserable.”

Same experience, opposite states of mind, opposite realities. One peaceful, the other stressful.

This applies to literally everything.

And the struggle is sometimes we can get caught in the familiar meaning if you usually think negatively about things, the emotional and physiological reaction that occurs from this negative can become so familiar to you. And it is easy to become addicted to the familiar.

You form a habit of negative perception that creates a vicious cycle of an attitude that alters your entire reality.

This state of mind is toxic and very unpleasant for the body creating chronic stress & inflammation leading to all sorts of diseases.

But the cool part is that when you break this vicious cycle, the same is true. The positive mind becomes the familiar and you start to find comfort in the positive.

This forms a habit of positive perception creating a virtuous cycle of peace.

This state of mind is a very healing and pleasant state for the body.

The good news… Your state of mind is entirely up to you. You have FULL control.

But this means no one can solve your mindset for you. Yet at the same time, no one can truly hurt your mindset either, unless YOU let them. Even in this case, it is still you choosing the negative mind.

The choice is yours.

So the question is… Which do you CHOOSE?
